Zehra Durmuş was born in Istanbul in 1965. She is continuing her graduate education at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Department of Traditional Turkish Arts, Illumination. Durmuş, who was introduced to illumination art with the classes she took from a stundent of Rikkat Kunt, received a certificate from Nilüfer Kurfeyz. Durmuş, who opened her first solo exhibition titled “Sireti Sureti” in April 2015, published her illumination designs studies with the title of “Tezhip” (means illumination) in 2016. Hande Topbai, Sevda Keçebaş, Zeynep Pekkendir and Reyhan Geylan are among the students trained by the artist, who participated in many group exhibitions both at home and abroad.
