Gözde Tabak Kıyıcı was born in Ankara in 1976. She is a graduate of Marmara Unviersity (MU) Fine arts Faculty Traditional Turkish Handicrafts Department. She took classes from Prof. Çiçek Derman, Prof. M. Uğur Derman. Asst. Prof. İnci Birol, Asst. Prof. Gülnur Duran and Salih Balabakbabalar. Kıyıcı continues her graduate studies at the same department, and gives classes at İSMEK and Turkish-Islamic Arts Center. In her works, she adapts the 16^th century classical illumination understanding; and modern miniature understanding, which treats contemporary subjects, unlike the classical understanding. Kıyıcı was given “The Illumination Artist of the Year Award” by Hat Magazine in 2009. She continues her artistic works freelance.
