Gülçin Taştan was born in Istanbul in 1982. She is a graduate of Anadolu University Open Education Faculty, Department of Photography and Cameraman. She started her illumination training with Dilek Yerlikaya at Fatih Public Education Center in 2002 and completed it in 2006. She took illumination classes from Dr. Münevver Üçer at İSMEK between 2006-2008, from Nilüfer Kurfeyz and Selim Sağlam at the Classical Turkish Arts Center at Yıldız Palace Şale Kiosk between 2011-2015. She also received khatt classes from Emine Sağlam, and participated in many personal and group exhibitions.
