Kezban Dumlu was born in Istanbul in 1974. She is a graduate of Sakarya University Fine Art Faculty. She started her undergraduate education in 2004 in Traditional Turkish Handicrafts Carpet-Rug Department, took classes from Prof. Ayşe Üstün, and graduated in 2008. She took illumination classes from Ümmü Gülsüm Terzi at GESMEK in Gebze district of Kocaeli in 2010, and from Serap Bostancı Tuluk at Topkapı Palace in 2015. Dumlu, who has been continuing taking illumination classes from Tuluk at İSMEK since 2016, includes Fatih (Sultan Mehmed the Second) period in her works according to the classical understanding. She participated in various group exhibitions at universities with her works, which she produces by blending the modern understanding and the classical, and in many exhibitions held by İSMEK and GESMEK.
