Oya Güray was born in Sakarya in 1963. She started received painting training in 1980, and continued at Academy of Fine Arts Devrim Erbil Workshop. She developed herself in her art with the classes she took from Necati Sancaktutan at Islamic Arts Specialization Center, and from Tülin Gönültaş; and participated in many group exhibitions. She is the manager of Sencide Art Workshop and continues her works there. Among the students she trained are Ayşecan Oğralı, Maria Orduluoğlu, Bahar Serdengeçti and Hilal Erdoğan.
