Semra Sayitoğlu was born in Istanbul in 1967. She started working on traditional arts in 1996; took marbling classes from Fuat Başar, and khatt classes from Tahsin Kurt. Sayitoğlu received miniature training from Taner Alakuş in 2007, and illumination training from Nilüfer Kurfeyz and Selim Sağlam in 2010 at National Palaces Education Unit. She has participated in many group exhibitions both at home and abroad; took part in “Istanbul Miniatures” book project in 2009, and in “The Face of Istanbul” book project in 2011, organized by Classical Turkish Arts Foundation. Sayitoğlu won exhibition prizes in Masters of the Future 2017 Competition.
