Sena Üstüner was born in Istanbul in 1981. She is a graduate of Eyüp Imam Hatip High School. Üstüner started taking illumination classes from Hülya Erdem, and continued her studies with Separ Bostancı at Hekimoğlu Ali Paşa Madrassah between 2001-2003. She started attending the illumination classes at Emel Türkmen Wokrshop, and completed the four-year training at the Classical Turkish Arts Foundation. She continues her studies at Hüseyin-Emel Türkmen Workshop in order to complete her graduation hilya. Üstüner received an artist certificate from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in 2013. She participated in many exhibitions.
