Atabey was born in Istanbul in 1982. She started studying illumination at the Applied Turkish-Islamic Arts Library in 2000, took classes from Serap Bostancı and Şehnaz Özcan. Atabey received her license in 2015. She has been continuing her studies as the assistant of Şehnaz Özcan, and participating in various exhibitions.
