İlkay Göncüler Erçin was born in Ankara in 1976. He studied at Yeditepe University Interior Architecture Department. Erçin continues to take classes from the miniature artist Nilgün Gencer at Mim Art Academy, he participated in the ‘Just Water Depths’ (original name ‘6 Üstü Su Derinlikler’) exhibition organized by the academy in May 2017. Erçin still produces new works by adapting traditional and modern miniature to the mythological stories he chooses.
