Aygün Tüfekçi was born in Germany in 1968. She graduated from Hauptschule in Germany in 1985. In 2008, she began practicing the traditional craft of basket weaving. She studied and worked with master artisans Emel Girgin and Sevgül Kardeş, developing her skills in handicrafts. Since 2011, she has served as a master instructor at Public Education Centers, sharing her knowledge of basketry and training many students, including Eylül Başka, Işılay Pınar, and Nimet. She continues her production at her workshop located in Emirdoğan neighborhood of Aydın. Tüfekçi has participated in numerous events such as the Artichoke Festival, Lifelong Learning Week, Women’s Associations exhibitions, and Public Education showcases annually from 2011 to 2025. She remains committed to preserving the traditional art of basketry and inspiring other women through her work.
