ATAN BÜLBÜL was born in Adapazarı in 1978. She graduated as the second of her year from Adapazarı Vocational High School for Girls, Department of Handicrafts in 1993. In 1998, she graduated from Anadolu University, Open Education Faculty, Public Relations Department, and in 2016 graduated from the Department of Business Administration at the same university. She is currently a student at Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf University, Institute of Graduate Studies, Traditional Turkish Arts Illumination Department. She is married and has two children. She began training in traditional arts in 1998. She took reqa’, nesih and thuluth courses for 2 years from the calligrapher and retired colonel Muhlis Uslu. She received classic marbling art courses from the marbler Hikmet Barutçugil in 1999 and 2000. The same year, she graduated from the Topkapı Palace Museum, Turkish Decorative Arts Illumination Department, where she was a student of Semih Irteş and Mamure Öz. She continued her illumination artwork production with the illluminator Mustafa Çelebi. She worked as a teacher at the illumination course carried out by the Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism. She received the artist identification card in the marbling-illumination branch in the exam held by the Provincial Ministry of Culture and Tourism in 2009. She is one of the founders of Bağdagül Art House/Bağdagül Hobby Market in Sakarya in 2001. She served at the Bağdagül Art House for ten years, where the Turkish traditional arts of calligraphy, illumination, marbling and ney are taught, and candidates for the fine arts academies are trained. In 2011, she established the Sıddı Art Workshop, which she named after herself. She continues to open solo exhibitions nationally and internationally and joins festivals.
