Zeynep Ölçer was born in Kocaeli in 1977. She is a graduate of Bilkent University English prep school, Kocaeli University Marketing Department and Anadolu University Business Administration Department. She took marbling classes from Hikmet Barutçugil at Istanbul Ebristan Marbling House, marbling and miniature classes from Gülseher Kahraman at Governorship of Kocaeli Provincial Culture Directorate, and illumination classes from Abdullah Aydemir at Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Turkish Decorative Arts Center. She gave marbling classes at Tbilisi State University, Elene Akhvediani Art Gallery, Marnueli Youth Center and Tbilisi Yunus Emre Institute within the scope of “Masters of the Future Project” conducted by the Ministry of Development in 2015-2016. Ölçer has been participating in various exhibitions, workshops, festivals and events since 2000, and continues teaching the art of marbling.
