Elif Balekoğlu was born in 1983 in Trabzon. She graduated from Istanbul University Distance Education Faculty Sociology Department. Between 2007 and 2010, she took ebru education from Emine Solak who gave her a certificate in Union Foundation. Balekoğlu still takes miniature lessons from Gülşen Eryüksel.
