Muhammed Sadreddin Özçimi was born in Konya in 1955. He graduated from Istanbul Technical University State Conservatory of Turkish Music in 1979. Özçimi completed his ney (an instrument) training with Aka Gündüz Kutbay and Niyazı Sayın. He regularly participated in the Mevlâna Commemorative Ceremonies organized in Konya since 1971 and joined Istanbul State Choir of Classical Turkish Music as a ney player. Özçimi still plays ney in Istanbul State Turkish Music Ensemble, and continues his work as the Head Neyzen (ney player) in Konya. He started working as a music lecturer at Selçuk University in 1984, and carried out the foundation works of the Music Education Department with Ud Player Cinuçen Tanrıkorur. Özçimi studied marbling with Alparslan Babaoğlu and received a license. He participated in various exhibitions both at home and abroad. Ahmet Sacit Açıkgözoğlu, Gülden Gürdamar and Betül Koyuncu are some of the students he trained.
