Yavuz Selim Korkmaz was born in Yozgat in 1986. He is a graduate of Anadolu University Department of Public Administration. He took synthesis calligraphy classes from Calligrapher Mukadder Mustafa Erol, and has been taking calligraphy classes from Khattat and Calligrapher Ahmet Yalçın within ESEV since 2008. Korkmaz has participated in many exhibitions and events.
