Esra Karabal, born in 1990, is a graduate of Bucharest Faculty of Medicine. She also has an undergraduate degree in philosophy, and currently works as a doctor. She studied naskh with Emine Sağman between 2005-2017, ta’liq with Ali Rıza Özcan between 2006-2008, and continues her classical naskh and thuluth studies with Mahmud Şahin. Karabal gave khatt classes at Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Centers in Bucharest between 2010-2013. She has been participating in various exhibitions since 2008.
