Ceyda Candaş was born in Istanbul in 1983. She is a graduate of Dokuz Eylül University Fine Arts Faculty Carpet Rug Old Cloth and Pattern Department. She presented a collection suggestion about carpets by preparing Belkıs Balpınar’s bibliography as her graduation thesis. Candaş, who makes special designs with the photographs she takes, won exhibition prize in the photography competition organized in Akhisar. She won fourth prize in ITHIB 3^rd Carpet Design Competition, second prize in professional bathroom category in UIB 2^nd Turkey Home Textile Design Competition, first prize in curtain category in ITHIB 1^st Home Textile Competition. Candaş, who participated in fairs abroad, prepared patterns and collections for companies in home textile sector and worked with important carpet companies. She has been working as the art supervisor of Mimsanat Academy since 2012, and takes Turkish arts training from the artists of the institution. Candaş has been studying miniature with Nilgün Gencer since 2012.
