 Arzu Uzunosman was born in Istanbul in 1962. She graduated from the traditional arts course opened by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism at Topkapı Palace in 1993, and started studying with Semih İrteş and Mamure Öz at Sema Workshop afterwards. Uzunosman won an award in illumination branch in the Traditional Arts Competition organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in 1995; and won first prize in kalem işi branch in the Masters of the Future Competition organized in 2013. She gave classes as an instructor at the illumination course opened by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in Süleymaniye Library, and also gave illumination classes at the Classical Turkish Arts Center at Yıldız Palace Şale Kiosk and in Konya. Uzunosman, who participated in various group exhibitions both at home and abroad, continues her studies with Semih İrteş.
