Emine Solak was born in Istanbul in 1978. She started her marbling studies in 2005 with Ayla Makas at Turkish Cultural Service Foundation Caferağa Madrassah, and continued with Fuad Başar. In 2007, she received her license for the education and the art of marbling. She started her illumination training in 2007 with Nilüfer Kurfeyz and Selim Sağlam at the Classical Turkish Arts Center at Yıldız Palace Şale Kiosk and continued with Emel Turkmen. Between 2007 and 2014, Solak gave marbling classes at the Union Foundation, and between 2008 and 2015 she also taught marbling at Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Art and Vocational Training Courses. She participated in many exhibitions and had prizes in various competitions.
