 Esra Yeniyurt Öztürk was born in Istanbul in 1981. She is a graduate of Eyüp Anatolian Imam Hatip high School. Öztürk started her illumination training in 2002 with Emel Türkmen at Fatih Municipality Edirnekapı Mihrimah Sultan Mosque Complex, continued at İSMEK after 2006 and received her license in 2008. She won first prize in illumination branch in the Turkish-Islamic Arts Branch Competition organized by İSMEK in 2009 within the scope of 2010 European Capital of Culture Istanbul and achievement award in the 15^th State Turkish Turkish Decorative Arts Competition organized in 2009 by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. She participated in various projects and group exhibitions, some of her works are in private collections. Öztürk continues her artistic studies.
