Figen Köçer was born in Bursa in 1961. Between 1979 and 1988 she did painting, ceramic and batik works. Between 1989 and 1991 she worked as a batik and fabric painting master instructor at Bursa Public Education Center. She took illumination lessons from Sakine Tuncer Duruk, Serap Bostanci and Kamuran Çınar in Bursa in 2003. Köçer, who participated in many exhibitions, continues her miniature studies at Taner Alakuş Workshop.
