Hüsna Kılıç was born in Konya in 1990. She graduated from Selçuk University Fine Arts Faculty Traditional Turkish Arts Illumination Department in 2012 with a degree. She completed completed master’s degree in Selçuk University Institute of Social Sciences Department of Illumination Art in 2014. She began working as a research assistant at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Traditional Turkish Arts Illumination Department in 2015 and started doing her Ph.D. in the same department. She won the first prize in Hediyem Istanbul Illumination Competition organized by Kültür (Culture) Inc. in 2016, and in 7 Hills 7 Arts International Istanbul Classical Arts Competition organized by Classical Arts Foundation in 2017. She designs her works according to the classical illumination tradition, but she also experiments with modern forms. Kılıç continues her illumination studies with her advisor Assoc. Prof. Münevver Üçer, and she is in the Ph.D. thesis stage in the art. She participated in many national and international exhibitions. Kılıç continues her artistic works, along with her academic works such as articles, books, symposiums and conferences.
