Leyla Okatan was born in 1972 in Gebze. She graduated from Çolakoğlu Girls Vocational School Painting Department. She took khatt and illumination lessons in KOMEK in 2006. She took ebru lessons from Gülseher Kahraman in GESMEK. Then she took İllumination lessons from Abdullah Aydemir in Kocaeli Municipality Fine Arts Education Center in between 2007-2010. She took her illumination certificate from her teacher. She took khatt lessons from Mahmut Şahin since 2008. She took illumination and flower painting lessons from Orhan Dağlı in 2011. From 2011 to 2016 she gave tiles, ceramic, porcelain painting and flower painting lessons. She participated in various domestic expeditions.
