 Mustaf Çelebi was born in Istanbul in 1964. He started his education at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Fine Arts Faculty Traditional Turkish Arts Khatt and Illumination Department in 1982, and studied khatt with Hasan Çelebi. He also took illumination classes from Rikkat Kunt, and participated in the script works of Quba Mosque in Medina in 1987. He completed his master’s degree in 1990 with a thesis study on “Sheikh Hamidullah School in the Art of Khatt”. Çelebi gave a seminar and held an exhibition in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) in 1992. He started working as a research assistant in Atatürk University Fine Arts Faculty in 1994, and started doing his Ph.D. in Atatürk University Theology Faculty Islamic Arts in 2003. He has participated in many exhibitons both at home and abroad, some of his works are in private collections, and he continues his artistic works in his own workshop.
