Senem Kaş Tüfekçi was born in Istanbul in 1974. She is a graduate of Marmara University Fine Arts Faculty Traditional Turkish Handicrafts Illumination Department. She also did her graduate studies at the same department of the same university. Tüfekçi took illumination classes from Çiçek Derman and Uğur Derman, miniature classes from İnci Ayan Birol, and khat classes from Muhittin Serin. She gave classes as a master instructor at İSMEK and IKSV, participated in many exhibitions, seminars and fairs both at home and abroad. Tüfekçi still gives classes at her workshop. Some of the students she trained are Emine Erez, Nurgül Çetinsaya and Hande Evrenos.
