Sümeyye Aydın Demir was born in Istanbul in 1982. She started studying illumination with Mine Orhan at Birlik Foundation in 2003, and has been continuing her studies at Hüseyin-Emel Türkmen Art House for four years. Demir, who participated in many group exhibitions, won second prize in the competition themed “Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture” organized by İSMEK in 2009. She continues her artistic studies.
