Born in 1969 in the Sandıklı district of Afyonkarahisar, In 2008, Akagündüz started to receive tel kırma (decoration method through bending wires) training from her master Şeyda Çetinbaş and gave courses on voluntary basis at Afyonkarahisar University Lifelong Education Centre between 2015 and 2021. Akagündüz, who has a master instructor certificate, gives tel kırma trainings at the Taş Medrese of Afyonkarahisar Municipality.
