Abdullah Aydemir was born in Erzurum in 1974 in Erzurum. He graduated from Atatürk University Fine Arts Faculty Traditional Turkish Handicrafts Illumination department in 1996. Aydemir took khatt classes from Abdulhâdi Erol Dönmez in 1996, and illumination classes from Celalettin Karadaş between 1996 – 2001. He has been continuing his khatt studies at the Library of Applied Turkish-Islamic Arts since 2001. Aydemir received his license from A. Erol Dönmez in 2007. He has been giving illumination classes at Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality since 2004, khatt classes at İSMEK since 2005, and has been attending Khattat Hüseyin Kutlu’s specialization classes since and serving as A. Erol Dönmez’s assistant since 2007. Aydemir, who participated in many group exhibitions, uses the pen name “Abdulhay” in his works.
