ÖZGEN was born in Istanbul in 1968, and completed her high school education at Bakırköy Trade High School. She graduated from Marmara University, Vocational School, Accounting Department in 1987. She worked as a finance specialist in the textile industry. After retiring in 2010, she settled in Burhaniye, Balıkesir. Due to her interest in handicrafts, she first received training at the Nebiye Işcen Patchwork Course, of the Burhaniye Municipality Women’s Platform, for 4 years. Since 2015, Özgen has been training at Aliye Çolak Patchwork and Embroidery Course of Burhaniye Public Education Center. Özgen’s artworks as the result of her training have been exhibited in various group exhibitions.
