Leyla Parlar was born in 1950 in İzmit. She graduated from İstanbul Atatürk Education İnstitute Social Sciences Department. She completed her undergraduate education in Geograpy Department. She also graduated from Kocaeli University Fine Arts Faculty Plastic Arts Department Painting main branch. She became a teacher in public education schools after her retirement. She still works as a teacher in Gölcük Municipality Art Gallery Patchwork Workshop.
