Tülay Gürcüoğlu, born in 1961, started working on handicrafts at Bakırköy Girls’ Vocation High School in 1989, and continued her studies in wood painting, folkloric doll making, oil painting and patchworking fields. She took patchworking classes from Birsen Eltutar. Gürcüoğlu won first prize in the 14^th İlayda Çanakkale Patchworking Meeting in 2015.
