Burcu Demir was born in 1979. She was trained as a jewelry producer and designer and also with her inclination towards art as she approached Turkish İslamic Arts. Between 2001 and 2003 after she took the education of the art of ebru from Ayla Makas in Caferağa Medresesi, she continued the illumination (tezhip) lessons that she started with Cemile Baybura. Between 2005 and 2006 she took illumination lessons from Mamure Öz. As much as her desire for art grew, she searched for a job which she can earn with art. She took lessons of being a jeweler from Mahmut Nasuh Ortak in between 2010 and 2017. Demir founded the brand called Chandra. The usage of silver and natural stones are in the foreground. Demir who attended many group exhibitions continues her works in her own workshop.
