Gülüzar Yenal Tezsüren was born in İzmit in 1947. In 1972, she graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Letters, Department of Art History. In Turkish Decorative Arts Course of Topkapı Palace, she took illumination lessons from Mamure Öz, Semih Irteş, Sevim Kayaoğlu and Serap Bostancı for two years starting from 2001. Tezsüren, who continued her studies on illumination at Anadolu Art Workshop with Sevim Kayaoğlu in 2003 until the end of 2010, also studied charcoal drawing for a year at Arthane Art and Design Workshop. Tezsüren participated in four exhibitions with Anadolu Art Workshop and took part in the study entitled "Masters of Istanbul in the Field of Illumination of Traditional Book Arts" prepared within the scope of Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture. The artist continues her miniature studies with Dilek Yerlikaya, which she started with Ayşe Tak in Bağlarbaşı Turkish Islamic Arts Center in 2011.
