Büyük was born in 1965 in Rize, and completed her primary education at Alçılı Primary School. She first attended machine embroidery and sewing courses held by Turkish Ministry of National Education in Rize. Later, she attended the jewelry design course at Bahçelievler/Soğanlı ISMEK in Istanbul, followed by jewelry design course and furnishing course at Bahçelievler/Basınsitesi ISMEK, where she received her diplomas. Büyük has attended Muhibe İper’s patchwork courses at Bahçelievler/Soğanlı ISMEK, and continues her production in this field.
