Melek Şen Yıldırım was born in İstanbul in 1973. She is a graduate of Anadolu University Faculty of Theology Associate Degree Program. Yıldırım took illumination classes from Mamure Öz at Sema Workshop in 2006-2007, and completed Topkapı Palace Museum Traditional Turkish Decorative Arts Illumination Course in 2008-2009. She took design classes from Semih İrteş at Nakkaş Decorative Arts Center. Yıldırım continues her tile and miniature studies.
