Nihal Tezcan Şişman was born in Istanbul in 1982. She took illumination classes from Saime Rikkat Çelebi at Altunizade Cultural Center between 2006 and 2008, and from Arda Çakmak at Classical Turkish Arts Foundation between 2008 and 2011. She graduated from Classical Turkish Arts Foundation in 2012, and attended to Berrin Çakin’s miniature classes at İSMEK Bağlarbaşı Turkish Islamic Arts Specialization School between 2012 and 2013. Şişman, whose works are in various collection both at home and abroad, won prizes in many competitions. She participated with her works in “The Face of Istanbul” project organized in 2010, and in “Safahat” project organized in 2011 by Classical Islamic Arts Foundation. Şişman continues her graduate education at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Traditional Turkish Arts Illumination Department.
