Reyhan Şeyda Gönen was born in Istanbul in 1989. She took illumination classes at History and Nature Foundation, from Nilüfer Kurfeyz in 2006, and from Asiye Kafalier in 2009. She reinforced her training with the classes she took from Nilüfer Kurfeyz and Selim Sağlam at the Classical Turkish Arts Center at Yıldız Palace Şale Kiosk in 2010, and graduated from this institution in 2013. Gönen has been continuing her studies by taking illumination classes from Ayten Tiryaki since 2013.
