Sibel Ak was born in Rize in 1977. She completed her graduate studies at Fatih Sultan Mehmet Foundation University. Ak took classes from Hatice Aksu and Fatma Özçay; studied marbling with Fuat Başar, and miniature with Orhan Dağlı. She has been participating in many group exhibitions since 2001. Some of the students Ak trained are Elif Köse, Fatümatüzzehra Kanka and Kamile Uçar.
