Süreyya Alper was born in Istanbul in 1967. She is a graduate of Anadolu University Open Education Faculty Public Relations and Advertising Department. Alper started her illumination studies at Süheyl Ünver Workshop in 1992, and received her license from Ülker Erke and Gülbün Mesara in 1995. She gave illumination and miniature classes in Amasya between 2008-2010, and at Hatay Governorate Public Education Center between 2010-2017. Alper did the kalem işi and illumination works of Hatay Kurşunlu Han Mosque with her students, and participated in more than seventy exhibitions. Her works are in local museums, hospitals, kindergartens and private collections. She gave classes at Mimsanat Workshop she founded in Hatay, and has been teaching at Mimsanat Academy in Istanbul since 2011.
