Elif Özlem Turan was born in 1977 in Trabzon. He graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Science, Department of Chemistry and Sakarya University, Department of Industrial Engineering. Turan, who works in a private company, was introduced to Turkish Islamic Arts in the marbling and illumination classes opened by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in Kocaeli in 2002. She took marbling and illumination classes from Gülseher Kahraman and Ayşegül Makas between 2002 and 2004. Turan, who participated in two group exhibitions in Izmit and Balikesir, continues her works on marbling in Balikesir.
