Gursel Uğurlu was born in Konya in 1960. She is a graduate of Hacettepe University, Department of English Linguistics. She became interested in the art of marbling in 2000s, after her line studies and studies on oil painting. She gave marbling classes and worked on introducing the art of marbling in schools. Uğurlu, who held five personal exhibitions and participated in various group exhibitions, gives marbling classes for adults and children at her Kırkambar Art Studio. Ahmet Yasin Durmuş and Yunus Taylan are some of the students she trained.
