Hatice Demirel was born in Istanbul in 1972. She studied at Anadolu University, Department of Economics (1993) and Public Relations Department (1997). She started her marbling training with Fuat Başer at his workshop in Little Hagia Sophia, and continued at Yılmaz Eneş’s workshop in master-apprentice way in 2001. Demirel took several battal marbling (a style of marbling) classes from Marbler and Khattat Zehra Dinçer in 2002, and also studied Hikmet Barutçugil’s various marbling works. She completed her training at Yılmaz Eneş’s Tarz-ı Kadim (means ‘the ancient style’) Marbling Workshop betwen 2005-2007, she also participated in various exhibitions.
