Sema Kaya, born in 1964, started taking art courses at England Colchester Comminty College in 1989. While studying English Language Teaching Department, she also continued attending the art courses; she attended the workshops of Alparslan Babaoğlu, Fuat Başar, Mahmut Peşteli and Hülya Demirel. She took khatt classes from Khattat Muhammed Faruk and Khattat Hasan Çelebi; and illumination classes from Mousab Dooruni, Fatma Özçay and Asiye Kafalıer. She has participated in many art events, and continues her works at her workshop.
