Sema Yücesoy was born in Istanbul in 1969. She graduated from Marmara University Faculty of Pharmacy in 1990. She took marbling classes from Fuad Başar, and illumination classes from Asiye Kafalıer and Emel Sönmezışık Türkmen. She started receiving marbling training at Üsküdar Classical Turkish Arts Foundation, completed her training in 2016 and received her license from T. Alparslan Babaoğlu. She participated in various exhibitions organized by the foundation, and won third prize in Masters of the Future in 2015. She continues her marbling studies with Babaoğlu.
