Sevgi Subaşı was born in 1982 in Istanbul. She graduated from Yıldız Technical University, Department of Mathematical Engineering in 2004. In 2007, she completed her master’s degree in Business Administration at Istanbul University. She worked in the banking sector as a software engineer. She was introduced to the art of Ebru (Turkish marbling) in 2004 at the studio of Ayla Makas. After a long break, she resumed her Ebru training with Ayla Makas in 2017. In 2025, she received her official Ebru diploma (icazet). Between 2009 and 2012, she also took ney (reed flute) lessons from Burcu Karadağ. In 2025, she participated in the "Spring Melody Ebru Exhibition". She currently continues her work in her personal studio located in Büyükçekmece, Istanbul.
