Mükerrem Turhan was born in Kütahya in 1954. She graduated from Marmara University Education Faculty Painting Department in 1974. She took painting classes from her father Enver Sadık Erdoğan, and worked as an instructor, manager and a painting jury member in the Ministry of National Education. She held seven personal exhibitons in various countries such as Turkey, USA, Germany and Siberia, and participated in group exhibitions in France, Netherlands, Germany, Bulgaria, Georgia, Cyprus, Albania and USA. She continues her artistic works, and gives classes in her workshop in Bursa. Turhan founded Femin & Art International Woman Artists Association’s Bursa Branch, and still serves as the president of it.
