Mustafa Ateş was born in Bartın in 1978. He is a graduate of Marmara Fine Arts Faculty. He applies classical Ottoman motives with new designs in his works. Ateş won honorable mention in the field of kalem işi in Master of the Future Competition organized by Zeytinburnu Municipality. He still continues his artistic works. Among the students he trained are Burak Çolak, Bayram Atabey and Selim Yıldırım.
