Berna Pınar Tunç was born in Istanbul in 1975. She graduated from Istanbul University, Department of Industrial Engineering. She completed her master's degree at Bilgi University with an MBA degree. Tunç, who has been working on the kat’ı since 2006, has received the kat’ı training from Dürdane Ünver and Müjgân Başköylü and became a kat’ı artist. She continues to work on kat’ı.
