Ayten Tiryaki was born in Ordu in 1961. In 1983, she graduated from the Faculty of Theology of Ankara University with a master's degree. She started her studies on classical arts in Ankara in 1978 and continued in Istanbul. In 1983, Tiryaki began to receive calligraphy training from Khattat Hasan Çelebi. In 1989, she received her license as the first female khattat from Çelebi. She also received her illumination license from Çiçek Derman and İnci Ayan Birol and participated in many exhibitions both at home and abroad and received many awards. Many works by the artist, whose works are also printed as books and plates, are in various collections. Tiryaki continues to train students in illumination and khatt courses. She has given illumination licenses to fifteen, and khatt licenses to seven of her students.
