Cavide Pala was born in Istanbul in 1970. She is a graduate of Anadolu University Department of Turkish Language and Literature. Pala received thuluth and naskh licenses from Khattat Hüseyin Kutlu in 1996. She worked as the curator and project supervisor of the exhibition named “News 100 Years Ago”, consisting of scanned Ottoman works, organized regularly for three years by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and the Directorate of Museums. She undertook the duty of reading the historical headstones within the scope of many projects of hazire (burial area reserved for special people especially in mosques or sufi lodges) recovery. One of these works was published as a three-volume book titled “Shrines and Mausoleums of Eyüp Sultan”. Pala continues her artistic works with exhibitions they open at the Applied Turkish-Islamic Arts Library, where she is also an honorary manager, such as Lâle (Tulip) Exhibition, Gül (Rose) Exhibition, Mevlâna Exhibition, Holy Birth (the week that Prophet Mohammed was born) Exhibition. She is also the head of the Ottoman Turkish group and in charge of the library of the Applied Turkish-Islamic Arts Library. Pala is one of the founders and the chairwoman of the Association of Science, Culture and Art. She gives Ottoman Turkish and khatt classes at various institutions.
